Primary Purpose Family Recovery Center History

As is often the case, Primary Purpose Family Recovery Center began with a resentment and a coffee pot. Jim C. began the club in 1989 at the old American Legion building in Arvada at Wadsworth and 54th Avenue. After the first year, Ray M. took over management. He ran the club for about 5 years before he moved to Florida. The club moved to a strip mall in Arvada, located on the SE corner of Ralston and Independence in 1995. After various managers, Rob K. took over the day-to-day running of Primary Purpose. During this time, Primary began to be operated by a board of directors with due-paying members. From Ralston Road, there was a very brief time spent in Wheat Ridge on 44th Avenue. In 2014, the club was moved to its current location at 8250 W. 80th Avenue, #12, Arvada, Colorado 80005.
